Classes Descriptions
Acro Class
Acrobatic dance or “Acro” is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a modern dance context. Dancers will work on improving flexibility, balance and core strength, while developing tumbling skills.Adult Barre Class
Essentially, barre classes mix elements of pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. In each energizing and targeted workout, you will use the barre and excersice equipment such as mini-ball and small hand weights to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body.Adult Tap Class
A class with emphasis on various performance styles using rythym combinations and isolating sounds.Ballet Class
These classes incorporate all elements of classical ballet (including all vocabularly and definitions), with a particular focus on expanding flexibility, exemplifying grace and developing strong coordination through accute balance and control, proper arm and feet placement, directional changes, jumps and weight transfer. Includes barre, center and across the floor choreography.Cheer Class
A full preparation class including proper cheer technique, cheers, stunts, light tumbling, and jumps with emphasis on safety.Children's Combo Class
In creative fashion, we utilize the imagination to incorporate fun elements of differing styles. We infuse each style with music that is age-appropriate, kid-friendly and focused, while bringing an understanding to basic steps needed for the preliminary dancer. We want our little ones to discover a love for dance while learning to point their toes, develop balance, recognize proper arm and foot placement and more!Contemporary Class
This class incorporates traditional and classical styles, while emphasizing a modern perspective on dance. Contemporary focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving breathing skills and expanding flexibility, while emphasizing across the floor movement and choreography with combinations. Student will learn pioneer art forms, theory, history, improvisation methods, parallel swings, and increase their understanding of the mechanics / alignment of the body.Hip Hop Class
These classes incorporate current, high-energy, stylistically diverse routines & warm-ups, while emphasizing upbeat choreography and movement across the floor. Hip Hop focuses on level changes, isolations, various techniques, learning to freestyle, including helping the dancer discover their own natural groove, style and taste. Work is done in groups and independently.Jazz/Drill Team Class
These classes incorporate energetic turns, leaps, jumps, kicks and formation changes, all while developing strong technique, coordination, musicality, style, partner work, stage direction and more. Jazz students will focus on multiple fun and up-tempo styles, including energetic across the floor movement and choreography. *Also great for the drill-team dancer!Musical Theater Class
Musical theatre combines elements of dramatic theatre, singing and dancing. It is defined by its musical character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary elements of dance with songs, spoken dialogue, and acting.Tap Class
These classes incorporate traditional and modern forms of tap, expanding the dancer’s awareness of sound and rhythm, while developing their coordination through combinations with the feet, working in the center, and directional changes.Technique/Dance Tricks Class
These classes move dancers beyond basic steps, developing more elaborate combinations, and implementing greater creative movement and strength. These classes focus on developing deeper stretching techniques for the whole body (legs, back, hips, feet, arms), while emphasizing heightened methods and sequences for turns, leaps, and jumps. This class pairs nicely with Jazz, but will aid and suit many dancers and forms!Tiny Dancers Class
A class with emphasis on creative movement, musicality rythyms and timing, coordination, and classroom conduct.
